It seems the sun may be setting over Montecito — and not just figuratively. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly received a stern warning about the future of their royal titles following the dramatic removal of Prince Andrew’s “prince” honorific.
Royal expert Maureen Callahan, writing for the Daily Mail, issued a sharp prediction:
“The sun begins to set over Montecito — permanently. Harry and Meghan are next.”
According to Callahan, when Prince William eventually ascends to the throne, it could spell serious trouble for the California-based couple. She claims that Andrew’s demotion was merely a “pawn removed by William to clear the way for his real target — Harry.”
The commentator further explained:
“If William has managed to convince the famously conflict-averse King Charles to strip his own brother of his titles, then Harry’s days as Prince and Duke of Sussex may be numbered.”
And as for Meghan Markle, Callahan suggests she could face a similar fate to Sarah Ferguson (Fergie):
“Like Fergie, Meghan would just be collateral damage — an afterthought. Flotsam in search of a shore — maybe even at QVC’s Pennsylvania headquarters, selling discounted As Ever stock. Sayonara, Sussexes!”
Meanwhile, GB News has also reported that King Charles’s decisive move against Prince Andrew — removing his title and evicting him from his Windsor residence — might have set a new royal precedent. This could, in time, be applied to other members of the royal family who step too far outside the bounds of royal tradition.
Whether or not the Sussexes truly are next remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: the royal spotlight is once again burning brightly on Harry and Meghan.
