Prince William and Kate Middleton have shared exciting news with fans as they embark on new plans following Prince Harry's brief visit to the UK. After attending the WellChild Awards, where he has been a dedicated patron for 16 years, Prince Harry has departed for South Africa, meeting with Princess Senate Seeiso of Lesotho.
In a post on their official social media accounts, the Prince and Princess of Wales announced that they would be traveling to Birtley today to visit the reopening of a community pool facility.
“Travelling to Birtley today to see how the reopening of the brilliant community pool facility is ensuring access to swimming is available for the local community,” they wrote on Instagram Stories and X (formerly Twitter).
William and Kate emphasized the importance of swimming as a vital life skill, noting that “almost one in three children in the UK currently leave primary education unable to swim.” They also mentioned that the Royal Foundation has brought together experts from the swimming sector to highlight the significance of swimming access in local communities.
