Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are once again facing scrutiny — this time over their reported struggles to deliver content under their high-profile Netflix deal.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who inked a £100 million deal with the streaming giant in 2020, are now being criticized for what insiders describe as a lack of meaningful output, despite assembling top-tier creative teams from around the world.
“She had everything going for her — name, platform, press — and the numbers were dismal,” a Netflix insider reportedly told The Spectator, commenting on Meghan’s limited impact despite the immense resources at her disposal.
The source further claimed that the couple’s lucrative deal is effectively “dead,” with no signs of renewal or new projects. “They’re just waiting for the credits to roll,” the insider added. “There’s no appetite for anything new.”
As speculation swirls around the expiration of their Netflix contract, experts in public relations and branding have also weighed in.
PR strategist Nick Ede remarked, “Meghan is the best way of making money for the two of them. She is the breadwinner.”
Meanwhile, brand analyst Philip Miller offered a more critical take, saying, “Her brand wasn’t one built on substance — it was based on using people.”
While Harry and Meghan have seen some success with previous projects like Harry & Meghan and the Heart of Invictus documentary, the recent commentary suggests that Netflix may be moving on quietly, leaving questions about the couple’s next move in the entertainment world.
