According to former royal butler Grant Harrold, the King would have appreciated Meghan’s thoughtful social media post, which featured a video of Harry in uniform and a tribute honouring those who have served.
Harrold, who previously worked for Charles during his time as Prince of Wales, said the post was respectful, emotional, and unlikely to cause any friction within the royal family.
Speaking to ReachPlc, he explained, “It’s a very powerful video and a very emotive post. It definitely reflects Meghan’s shift toward a more ‘celebrity’ style of social media, sharing the moments she feels are important on key days.”
He continued, “It’s a really nice post. I don’t think the Royal Family will feel badly about it at all — I think they’ll approve.”
Harrold added that Meghan’s recognition of Veterans Day — the U.S. counterpart to Remembrance Day — also highlights her pride in Harry’s years of active military service.
“The King was extremely proud of his son serving in Afghanistan,” he said. “He will be glad to see Meghan acknowledging and respecting that.”
