Sarah Ferguson is preparing for a major life change as she looks ahead to her future following renewed tension with the Royal Family. According to insiders, the Duchess of York is planning a move to Portugal after what has been described as a period of “royal exile.”
The former wife of Prince Andrew is expected to relocate to a £3.6 million villa in Portugal owned by her daughter, Princess Eugenie, and Eugenie’s husband, Jack Brooksbank. The couple has been spending part of their time in the country due to Jack’s work ties there, and the property is said to offer Ferguson a fresh start.
Reports of her move surfaced shortly after a resurfaced email exchange between Ferguson and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein became public. In the email, Ferguson wrote: “You have always been a steadfast, generous and supreme friend to me and my family.”
Her spokesperson later clarified the context of the message, explaining: “This email was sent in the context of advice the Duchess was given to try to assuage Epstein and his threats.”
Despite the controversy, insiders say Ferguson is focusing on rebuilding her life and embracing the next chapter. “Sarah is ready to move forward,” one source shared. “She sees this move as a fresh beginning away from the shadows of the past.”
