The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, is set to play a key role during the upcoming State Visit of French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron to the United Kingdom, scheduled from July 8 to July 10, 2025.
According to Royal Central, the visit will begin with a royal welcome at RAF Northolt, where Prince William and Kate Middleton will personally greet President Macron and Madame Macron upon arrival. The royal couple will then accompany the French President and First Lady to Windsor, where the formal proceedings of the visit will unfold.
Upon arrival in Windsor, King Charles and Queen Camilla will extend the official welcome on behalf of the British monarchy. A carriage procession to Windsor Castle will follow, featuring both royal couples and the Macrons — a ceremonial highlight showcasing the enduring diplomatic and historical ties between the two nations.
As part of the welcome ceremony, King Charles and President Macron will inspect a Guard of Honour. Later, the King and Queen will host a lunch in honor of the French dignitaries, with other members of the Royal Family, including the Prince and Princess of Wales, expected to attend.
This high-profile role for Kate comes shortly after her recent public engagement at the RHS Wellbeing Garden at Colchester Hospital, where she expressed her gratitude toward staff and volunteers and celebrated the planting of Catherine’s Rose to support patient and staff wellbeing.
“Wonderful to see Catherine’s Rose planted here… Grateful to everyone who helped create this special space,” the Princess said during the visit.
Her prominent presence during the French state visit highlights her continued commitment to royal duties and strengthens her growing role as a key figure in the monarchy’s diplomatic engagements.
